Party Time

Saturday - two parties, Sunday - one.  It was in fact party time.  It was awesome.  I love celebrating the lives of my friends children.  Even better when your children and their children are friends!  Magical even!

Saturday started with an early trip to the temple for me.  I went to the 7 a.m. session and it was lovely.

Next up - Alice, Fiona and I went to Orangeville to go to Claire's birthday party, while Ken took Kate to Madison's birthday party.  I'm sad that we don't have any pictures of Madison's birthday, but I did get to take lots of pictures at Claire's party!  It was a Little Mermaid themed party.  They played pin the shell in Ariel's hand.  There was lunch, treats, play time inside, an awesome skull spill, a pinata, play time outside, cake and presents.  Alice had lots of fun playing with Daisy - one of Claire's cousins.

Home, then back to Orangeville for the women's broadcast.  I was going to take Fiona with me this evening.  She was supposed to fall asleep on the way home from Claire's party, but she didn't.  She didn't fall asleep until 20 minutes before I was supposed to go.  So Ken took all the girls to the drive-in. I so enjoyed the colouring, the potluck meal and of course the women's broadcast.  It was a wonderful beginning to conference weekend.  I'm excited to bring Kate with me when she's 8.

Sunday, church, then drop Ken off at home, then on to Keswick to celebrate Cooper!  I feel so mixed about Sunday birthday parties.  My feeling is, if we are there as a family, and it's after church, it's okay.  Ken didn't come with us, but he was going to work anyway.  The girls and I had fun, and it was lovely to see Shawn and Cooper.  It was a beautiful day, and Shawn's family is awesome.  It was a carnival theme - a bouncy castle, dress up, and cotton candy.  The girls all had so much fun!

Highlights - the girls and the costumes, the girls and the cotton candy, Kate talking Benjamin's ear off and him letting her.  Kate reading the card to Cooper and the two of them giggling at the picture of their butts in the card.  Eating even more cotton candy after everyone was gone.  Walking down to the water to see the sunset.  Hanging out with Shawn.

As I reflect on the weekend, and look through all the pictures again, I just feel so blessed.  Even though I'm exhausted and it was a whirlwind of a weekend, it was wonderful.  I have amazing friends, an amazing family, and I live in a beautiful world!  Blessed am I!
