Oh how I love the lake! What better way to start the Winter break, then with a trip to the lake. Warm/mild days make lake trips so awesome, and yard pick up on a Friday makes having a little fun first possible.
Saturday Dec 22
Why not get a haircut?! Alice's hair has been getting more and more, interesting?! So, when she agreed to get a haircut, and they had time to take Kate too, it was a done deal. Oh and Fiona can do a really good cross-eyed face.
Sunday Dec 23
Church was an hour long. Church was lovely - it was the story of some of the Christmas carols, and then we would sing the carol. Kelly - Alice's aftercare teacher came to church with us, so that was cool. Grandma came for a quick visit, and then I wrapped presents for a long, long time. I was determined not to be up all night on Christmas Eve! Oh and I finally got a picture of the girls in their dreamies!
Monday Dec 24
Ken went to work for part of the day. The girls hung out in their dreamies. Our neighbours got the girls the cutest bucket of crafty stuff. Aunty Wendy sent cute handmade window clings from England. Before bed, we piled in the van and drove to Uxbridge to look at the gorgeous lights.

Christmas! Go figure the girls had fun today! I think they all loved their presents!
Wednesday, December 26
We decided to head downtown to the ROM. There was a really cool exhibit about a new dinosaur that was discovered recently - Zuul, the destroyer of shins.
We went to dinner at Jack Astor's at Dundas Square and then we wandered around the Eaton Centre.
We saw the amazing windows at the Hudson's Bay downtown.
Then we went to watch the people skating at City Hall. And then it was home again on the subway.
Thursday, December 27
Fiona lost her first tooth!
Friday, December 28
It was really mild out and so the girls and I took advantage.
We picked up the girls from my Mom's in the afternoon and went to Ikea - always fun to play on furniture!
Sunday, December 30
It was time to say goodbye to the worst tree we've ever had. It was completely dried out from almost day one, and I couldn't sweep enough. Every time you accidentaliy bupmed into it you knocked needles off. It was so bad. Ken decided that before he would carry it out of the house, he would try to get as many needles off as possible. Behold! It was crazy. Poor little awful tree!
Monday, December 31
And just like that the year is done! We had a quiet night at home watching goofy new year's shows, and Kate made it to midnight! Alice almost, and Fiona not at all!
I should say something about the year that was, but I'm not sure what that is? Life is good, busy, hectic, and wonderful. We have had a great year, not without sadness and disappointment, but our hope, our faith, sustains us and helps us find true happiness!
