Chudleigh's Apple Farm

It's conference weekend, and while I love to watch each session as it happens, I also know that this is not ideal with young children.  The weekends that we've tried to stay in and watch all four sessions are nutso.  With that in mind I wanted to do something Saturday morning, and then be home for the four o'clock session.  We talked about going to the Markham Fair with the Lim-Andersons, but the girls and I had just been to the Beeton Fall Fair, and I really wanted to go apple picking.  I love Chudleigh's and if we didn't go today, I wasn't sure when we'd make it.

It was cold today.  We probably could have worn our winter coats.  Thankfully there's lots to do and keep you moving.  We played on the slides, the hay bales, in the maze, went for a pony ride, visited the animals in the petting farm area, and then picked some apples.  It was great.  We survived the cold!  When we were washing our hands after petting the animals and visiting the bathrooms, Kate thought she was going to die, but we survived!

 

I love going to Chudleigh's.  I think I said that already, but just looking at all the pictures again makes me so happy!  After the farm we went to McDonald's, ate lunch, the girls played, and then home.  We didn't quite make it for the 4 o'clock session... I think I started watching at 4:30.  But we still watched, and we still had a wonderful day.  Ken went to Priesthood session in Orangeville, and the girls and I had a quiet night at home.  I'm so thankful for my family, for general conference, and apple farms.

A Fun-Filled Friday

When I chose pre-school days my thoughts were this: Tuesday - Orangeville, Wednesday - the day we pull Kate (if we pull Kate) to do things all together, to break up the week day, Thursday - library group.  That left Monday and Friday.  Those are also the days that Ken works from home, so if/when the white car gives up the ghost I won't have to walk Alice to pre-school.  Never did Kate having P.A. days enter into my thoughts.  I knew that we would miss some Mondays because of stat holidays, and I was okay with that - Thanksgiving, Family Day, Easter Monday, Victoria Day - four days - big deal!  But P.A.days... didn't think about that.  It was funny to take Alice to school but keep Kate at home.

Kate had her first P.A. day today.  It was a beautiful day.  We went to two different parks in Tottenham - Annie's park (on Eastern Ave.) and the park on McKnight.  

Then we picked up Alice from pre-school, came home, had lunch, and then we went to Chudleigh's Apple Farm.  APPLES!!  It was so fun.  We all enjoyed eating sun-ripened apples in the orchard, picking apples, the hay bales and slides, the animals, the wagon ride.  I love this annual fall event.

After we had our fill of apple fun, we jumped back in the car and drove the scenic route to Brampton, found a subway sandwich place and had dinner.  Next stop, the temple.  We did this last year after our apple fun, and it was so lovely, so we did it again.  I love taking the girls to walk around the temple.
