After the museum we had dinner at Wendy's, picked up a few items from the grocery store across the street, and drove the rest of the way to Heidi and Todd's. The girls played for a bit, then it was bed time.
Sunday was of course church. It was their Fast Sunday - being the week after General Conference.
There were two sisters visiting the area from Ottawa, and Heidi invited them to join our Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. The afternoon was spent preparing the feast. We pealed, cut, chopped, baked, and cooked all afternoon, and there was a magnificent feast! The talk was lively and interesting as we were regaled with stories from the Ottawa ladies. (The know Jen and Eric of course!)
Monday, I wanted to go to the Joseph Smith farm and visit the grove. We hadn't taken Fiona there yet, and I really wanted to, so we did! It was such a beautiful day. The sister missionary spoke with the girls, taking time with out little ones and bore such a sweet and powerful testimony of Joseph Smith to them. He wasn't a perfect man, of course he wasn't, no one is supposed to be perfect, only Jesus Christ, but he did so much good in his life. We had a lovely time walking around. Then we drove into Palmyra for pizza and a quick stop in the bookstore. This was of course also "see you soon" Heidi. Whenever soon will be. I am so grateful for sweet, wonderful friends, and for the gospel, and holiday weekends with family!
Thank you Egans for an amazing Thanksgiving weekend American style!
