Boston is an interesting city - so much history, things to see and do. It really deserves more than just a day but when a day is all you have, a day is all you have. We decided to take the subway in and start our adventure at Boston Common.
Kate on her first train ride.
Suzanne mentioned that we should check out the duck pond. I was imaging a small little splash area for children. I did not imagine the "duck lake" that we found. Kate and I waded around for a few minutes and then she completely lost interest.
After leaving the Common we made the obligatory walk over to Cheer's for the obligatory picture in front of the sign.
Next stop - start the freedom trail, that means we walk up hill - eek.
The big hill was clearly very tiring for Kate... wait, she was in a stroller?
Well, we (okay make the I) forgot the guide book so we couldn't read about the stuff we were walking past and although the signs are pretty good, we didn't always see them.
This is clearly a picture of a building.
And this is clearly another picture of a building...
We made our way down to Quincy Market and had lunch at a Seafood place - more lobster and chowder for Ken. Next we walked through Christopher Columbus park down by the water and found a little park for Kate to play in.
Having seen a few buildings, a few parks and some water, we considered Boston conquered and from there made our way back to the subway.
We clearly saw all there was to see and now never need to return again to Boston! Uh, yeah... we did have a lovely day!
