My Little Blossom

In honour of all the blogging that will have to wait until yet another day... here's my sweet blossom!

Backyard Fun!

A while back - I think a warm day in March, we enjoyed a sale and bought some fun backyard stuff!  It's fun to watch Kate start to play and explore.  I think eventually she'll get the slide, she's cautious like her Mama.  And I know eventually she'll get not putting the sand in her mouth... at least not much goes in her mouth!

A Fun Visit

 Kate, Ellia, Simeon, and Annorah

It's so funny to me that Rebecca and I grew up 6.6km away from each other, but never met until she and Jon served in the same mission in France.  When she came home Jon told me to find her and introduce myself, I did and we've been friends ever since.  I was sad when she and her husband moved to Montreal, but I'm glad that she comes to visit her Mom several times a year.

Simeon is now so big, compared to the tiny little guy we met in November!

A child, a cat and a bird

Kate desperately wanted to pet the cat.

The cat desperately wanted to get at a bird in the tree.

Generally I just thought it made for cute pictures!

Kindermusik

Signing up to take Kindermusik classes last fall is something I will always be grateful I did.  I don't quite know what to write to make it sound as important as it was. The fun of singing and dancing with Kate at a weekly class - the music we have in our home, the books, Kate I and have had so much fun.  We will continue to enjoy the books and music for a long time.  Kindermusik class is also where I met Michelle.  Not only is she so important just because she's fun and a friend - in Tottenham no less, she introduced me to Antoinette, who now looks after Kate while I'm at work.  So many blessings - all from Kindermusik!

I did 1 1/2 sessions of Kindermusik with Kate in the fall.  Antoinette finished the last few weeks of the second session in January because the classes were during the day. When that session was finished, Michelle and I both signed up for the Saturday morning class.  Today was the last class.  I'm sure Kate will do more classes in the future, and who knows we might even do more classes together, but I'm so glad to have so many wonderful memories of the Kindermusik classes we took.

A Swing!

Kate loves to swing.  Our tree needed some excitement.  Put those two things together - happy kid and a fun tree!  YAY!

This girl loves to be outside!

Another Birfday - eek!

Part One - The downtown tradition (Saturday, April 10)
This is the third year in a row that we have gone to the St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District for my birthday.  It was a beautiful day - a little windy and cold in the shade but warm and lovely in the sun.  We had a yummy lunch at the Brick Street Bakery - such yummy sandwiches.  Then on to Soma to stock up on more chocolate then is reasonable.  The last stop was the Sweet Escape for some cupcakes.  From there we walked down to the Market (stopping at some swings on the way) to pick up light amber maple syrup and Kozlik's mustard.  We didn't spend very long in the Market at all, navigating that place with a stroller is well, just plain nuts!

Part Two - Dinner with Mom and Dad (Sunday, April 11)
I'm starting to feel a little badly that my Mom cooks dinner for our birthdays every year.  We should take a turn and Ken should cook for our birthdays next year!  Sunday after church we went to my parent's and had dinner.  Thank you Mom for making turkey - yum!  And thank you Dad for getting me a yummy peanut butter and chocolate ice cream cake - yay!

Part Three - Dinner at the Keg (Monday, April 12)
I love that Andrew works at the Keg.  I love going out for a yummy steak dinner, and paying much less than full price!  We had fun.  Great food, even better service.  How often does your server look after your child so you can cut up your meat?  Kate had fun walking around with her Uncle.
