The Treehouse Children's Museum

I haven't been to that many children's museums but I feel like I've been ruined! The Treehouse museum in Ogden was AMAZING! It was so much fun. The kids loved it and the adults loved it. There was so much to do and see and of course everything was hands on. Below are a few of my favourite shots.

This bench was between a display about Japan and one about Africa. All of the different country areas had costumes, books, toys and other objects.

Here's Joey coming out of the tree. The tree had a stair case inside of it which connected the two floors of the museum.

We had to take pictures in China! Doesn't Kate look so cute? And Ken too!

The music room was great. There were tons of hand drums, mallet instruments and other auxiliary percussion stuff. Marcus had fun playing cow bell.

Kate was thrilled to sit in the oval office with President Obama. Having watched his inauguration when she was 12 days old made meeting him just that much more special. Or at least his cardboard likeness.

Marcus and I had fun building houses. One day Kate will learn other uses for toys, besides chewing.

Just before this picture Seth had a hyper explosion! He ran from drum to drum to drum so fast that I couldn't get a picture.

Isaac had fun too. I wish I had a better picture of the whole drum. Isaac could have easily fit inside of it. We probably could have put all of the cousins inside of it!

I asked Thomas if I could take his picture in the boat. He said yes but I had to wait for him to put on a costume.

Kate and Anna are so cute together. They already have such an affinity for each other. They babble to each other with "baby" thrown in by Anna every few words.

The museum had things for kids of all ages - even babies!

Suzanne and the ladies are practicing for when they will be firefighters?

Seth might have a career ahead of him as a cowboy.

Perhaps Marcus will join him.

The grandparents and Wendy and Ray had already left but we had a group shot taken by one of the attendants. In this photo are Bacons (Jon and his boys and Andrew), McCartneys, and Bateses (Matthew and Suzanne and their kids, and Matthew's brother Andrew his wife Amy and their kids). Can you say cousins!

After playing hard we all went to Farr's for ice cream. Joey and Thomas were waiting patiently for their baseball hat sundaes.

After dinner it was time to run around outside again. Beside our unit in Wolf Creek was the golf course, the ninth hole I think. It provided some fun green space to play in.

Marcus and Joey played so nicely together.

Kate loves her cousins. The way she watches them, you just know she's so excited to play with them.

Can you figure out who is who? Double click on the photo to see the action. They're actually playing football-frisbee on a golf course of course.

Is anything better than hanging out with your cousin in the grass?

A Quiet Kind of Day

Monday was a quiet sort of day. Ken and Kate and I explored a little. Walking around was interesting... can you say altitude?!

The mountains are so lovely.

Andrew and Kate wore their jerseys and enjoyed a bit of a Liverpool game. I never did find out who won?

In the afternoon is when the fun began with the arrival of the Bacons and Bates and Millers. After dinner we headed out to the play area for the boys to let loose, outside! Tether ball was enjoyed by the little boys almost as much as by the biggest boy. (That would be you Jon.)

They enjoyed checking out the fish in the pond. These were possibly the largest koi fish I'd ever seen.

The boys checked out the rocks of course. What little boy doesn't love rocks?

There was playing in the sand.

An epic battle.

Cutie Thomas and a tree.

A bit of a wrestling match.

And a run up the hill back home.

Meeting the Millers

Three of the Miller kids. The last time they were all together was back in 1999. I really enjoy seeing my Mom with her siblings. I wonder if Kate will get a kick out of watching me interact with Suzanne and Jon and Andrew?

The gathering at the Miller's home was wonderful, but too short and incomplete. Only four of John's nine kids were there. I was happy for Ken to finally meet Sally and Tim - and their families of course, but I was even more excited for Sally and Tim to meet Kate while she's still a baby! I wish I would have been able to get a group cousin shot - I don't even have photographic proof that I saw Hannah! Ah well, next time.

I love my family so much. I wish we all lived closer or I wish we could all afford to see each other at least once a year!

Meeting Eliana

Kate and I waiting in the hall for Eliana to make her appearance in the window.

Eliana's appearance in the window. You can sort of see Kate's reflection which I thought was kind of fun. Kate smiled at Eliana. She was excited to meet her newest cousin.

Eliana and Grandma.

Kate and I and my Mom went with Jonathan to Provo in the afternoon of the Sunday. Only a limited number of people could actually go into the NICU and Grandma was one of those lucky people. Kate and I did enjoy our look through the window. Jon came out and got my camera and snapped the non-glass pictures. Eliana continues to get stronger every day and will be going home soon.

Eliana a.k.a. Lovey. She is a sweet little love. I can't wait until I can hold her! Or depending upon how old she is give her a hug!
