Happy Birthday Kenny - part two

It was -13 and they were wearing leotards! Can you say freezing? We arrived at Nathan Phillip's Square part way through the leotard extravaganza (Kitonb Extreme Theatre Company) so we were slightly confused by the dialogue. Something to do with nature and death and life and art. They used a crane - and there was fireworks.

Wendy with the Sloan stage in the background. Only my toes were cold.

Can you tell how happy he was? How much does Ken love Sloan? Well, to the tune of it was really cold for three hours! Sloan performed a free concert at Nathan Phillip's Square on the 27th as part of the Winter City celebrations. It was actually really fun to be out with other hearty Canadians enjoying the tunes.

Anniversary Number Four

December 28, 2006. We've been married for four whole years! And I still feel like a newlywed. Is it too mushy to say that I think Ken is the best husband ever?! Being married to my sweet Ken is the best - happy anniversary to me.

McCartney Family Christmas

Boxing Day was spent in Codrington at the homestead of Ken and Chris McCartney. How many Kens is too confusing? Don't ask! The cousins had so much fun playing with each other. Meagan delighted us with her flute playing, the boys played with their cars, Caitlin carried Anders around all night, the dog only ate one chicken finger and one piece of ham, the food was amazing (as always) and everyone enjoyed visiting. We missed Laura, Keenan and William who were unable to come down from North Bay. I also seem to have missed photographing my Ken and myself of course.

Ken and I cooked our first turkey! We made Christmas Dinner for my brother Andrew, and my Mom and Dad. We had a traditional menu of turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, dilled carrots and waldorf salad. We finished the meal with Ken's awesome pie.

Christmas Lights

Below are two houses that have attracted lots of attention in the Toronto Area. The Lindsay house we've known about for a few years but we only discovered the DeSario house this year. Ken and I were watching the news the other night and the weatherman was in front of the DeSario house and he mentioned it was at Keele and Sheppard and I decided that Ken and I needed to find it. And with the all-knowing-gut we found it. (Okay perhaps that sounds bizarre and confusing... let me explain. I didn't know where exactly the house was but I knew in my gut that we could find it. AND I knew in my gut it would be in the north-west section of Keele and Sheppard and we drove around and the gut found it!)

After we had Christmas Dinner with my parents we took them on a drive to see the DeSario house. Mom and Dad both loved the lights. Mom especially loved that they had a manger scene. What's really neat about both houses is that they have donation boxes and they both collect money for charity. I love the lights of Christmas!
This is the Lindsay House at 4 Rosea Court in Thornhill. Their lighting display is amazing. Two brothers work together and design the light show to go with music. If you go to their website http://www.lindsaylights.com/index.html
you can watch a video of the music and lights. We were lucky to go there when it wasn't too busy. According to the website they now have a policeman directing traffic and it can take up to 45 minutes to drive by the house to see the light display.
