Four day weekends are glorious. I'm so thankful that the weather was pretty good, that everyone was healthy, and that we just had time. Time together, time to do some things around the house, time.
Friday
We had a quiet morning and then we went to see the live action Beauty and the Beast at the movie theatre in Whitby. It was so great. We all loved it. After the movie it was so nice out we needed to go to a park.
We got to the park and about five minutes later Kate said she needed to pee. Awesome. Ken took her home and that's when after consulting google maps, Alice, Fiona and I decided to walk down to the water. Ken and Kate found us and we had a lovely walk around, until Fiona needed to pee, then the fun was over!
We went home and Ken BBQ'd and we had a lovely evening.
Saturday
We started with the Easter Egg hunt in the morning. The girls were very excited. They hunted in the basement for their eggs, and then came upstairs to open their Easter Jammies.
The girls then ate most of their chocolate. We weren't moving very quickly, so eventually the girls all got dressed and we made our way to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. We had thought of doing a farm today, but it clouded over pretty quickly this morning and poured buckets of rain. So the mall it was.
We had an interesting food court adventure... The girls crawled all over Ken. He left and went up to Mastermind with Kate and Alice, then Fiona spit apple juice on me during a selfie, then I accidentally spilled the rest of the bottle all over her when I was trying to get myself cleaned up... oops.
Then it was home, quickly get organized, clean/do dishes/bathe apple juice soaked Fiona, then I ran over to pick up Chantelle. Ken and I went on my birthday dinner date! There's this awesome place in Whitby - KB Food. The chef is Kevin Brown. He changes the menu every week, they try to locally source food, and it is just so good. We went a month or so ago with Joaquin and Laura. YUM! And date night, what's better than date night?!
Sunday
Church. I like this day to be separate from all the commercial stuff, and so it was. I have put up the Holy Week signs in the front hall, and we've talked lots about the resurrection and about Jesus suffering for us, and Jesus loving us. I pray that my girls come to love their Savior and that they have their own personal relationship with him.
Monday
Ken went into work for a few hours and the girls and I had a quiet morning. Then around 3 Emily, Jinx and the kids came over. The kids played and played, and then after begging to go to the park for the 20th time, we finally relented.
We came back to our place, Ken BBQ'd and the kids played. It was so cute tonight - Fiona and Hazel have finally made a friend connection. Hazel is finally old enough to actually play with Fiona. They played in her room with the kitchen. It was so cute. At one point Fiona put her arm around Hazel to guide her up the stairs. Holden and Alice were having a potty mouth frenzied giggle fest. Why is poop such a funny word?!
It was such a lovely weekend. I'm not excited to go back to work, but there's no Sunday night dread as there so often is. Four day weekends, pure bliss! I'm thankful for Easter, for the concentrated reflection on my Savior and all the He means and should mean to my life. I hope I can continue to be a little kinder, a little more patient, and a lot more loving.

Kindergarten Registration
And now there were three! It was Fiona's turn today. I rushed out of school, hopped on the 407 and raced to pick up Fiona. I picked her up and off we went to Carruthers Creek. It's funny because I have her on a waiting list at Southwood, but who knows if that will work out, so she's registered at our home school. She was pretty excited. She was smiling from ear to ear, until of course I said I wanted to take her picture!
We picked up Alice from aftercare and then took a picture with the Coyote. So cute!
And then we went back for Family Fun Night. Except that I dropped the girls off with Ken so I could go do Easter shopping!

My Birthday
I felt what? Fine. Not really excited, but just fine. Ken started off the day by getting up super early to make my lunch and breakfast, and a card! YAY! Thank you Ken.
Some of the kids knew it was my birthday at school. So that was fun.
After school we went out for dinner at Lone Star. I wanted the chicken salad, the girls love the dough balls. It's a win win!
We were in two cars because Ken met us after work. So on the way home with Fiona I decided I did want cake - ice cream cake. I wasn't sure if they'd have a ready made peanut butter and chocolate ice cream cake so I thought I could get a hand packed container of ice cream, but they did!! I was so excited.
It was a lovely day. I had Facebook messages of love and birthday wishes all day, and I have an awesome family. I am truly blessed!

Decorating Eggs
I think I'm slightly bored of the same old same old. Next year I should probably do some sort of pinterest research and find a fun new thing to do. The exciting thing about decorating this year, Fiona didn't break any eggs. She's old enough to almost do it by herself. I still mostly helped all the girls take eggs in and out of the dye. We did have fun. Four eggs each for the girls and I got to do two.
Now to practice and get ready for tonight's Easter Cantata!

Conference Thoughts
On Saturday we went out to fly our new kites between conference sessions. We bought candy - too much, and I printed conference bingo cards. I keep thinking about how to help the girls develop of love of general conference. I love it. I love watching all the sessions and taking notes.
Right now, I think their love is of candy, so baby steps and they'll get there eventually!
