Meeting the Millers

Three of the Miller kids. The last time they were all together was back in 1999. I really enjoy seeing my Mom with her siblings. I wonder if Kate will get a kick out of watching me interact with Suzanne and Jon and Andrew?

The gathering at the Miller's home was wonderful, but too short and incomplete. Only four of John's nine kids were there. I was happy for Ken to finally meet Sally and Tim - and their families of course, but I was even more excited for Sally and Tim to meet Kate while she's still a baby! I wish I would have been able to get a group cousin shot - I don't even have photographic proof that I saw Hannah! Ah well, next time.

I love my family so much. I wish we all lived closer or I wish we could all afford to see each other at least once a year!

Meeting Eliana

Kate and I waiting in the hall for Eliana to make her appearance in the window.

Eliana's appearance in the window. You can sort of see Kate's reflection which I thought was kind of fun. Kate smiled at Eliana. She was excited to meet her newest cousin.

Eliana and Grandma.

Kate and I and my Mom went with Jonathan to Provo in the afternoon of the Sunday. Only a limited number of people could actually go into the NICU and Grandma was one of those lucky people. Kate and I did enjoy our look through the window. Jon came out and got my camera and snapped the non-glass pictures. Eliana continues to get stronger every day and will be going home soon.

Eliana a.k.a. Lovey. She is a sweet little love. I can't wait until I can hold her! Or depending upon how old she is give her a hug!

After the photo shoot - Slip and Slide!

Isaac seemed to be the master slipper/slider! I got a few great action shots with Isaac.

This is the back of Jon and Michelle's house. The kids played and played and played.

Seth enjoyed running down the slip and slide.

Joey also enjoyed running. By the time I was taking pictures he didn't really want to slide anymore.

Anna of course couldn't be left out of the action.

Marcus and Thomas and Joey got along really well. It's so fun for the cousins to get together.

They enjoyed playing with their rocket bubble launcher.

They enjoyed playing Wii.

And of course Jon enjoyed playing Wii.

And after playing hard you must eat.

And then after you've played hard and fueled up you can pose for cute pictures. I think Sethy and Kate look so cute!

The Photo Shoot

I love my beautiful family!

Thank you so much to Tim and Kim for taking such wonderful photos!

And we'll save the best for last... Eliana Renée Bacon. She wanted to be there for the family reunion so she decided to come early! Next time she'll be at the photo shoot!

Utah - Part One - THE JOURNEY!

The plan: all travel together, minimize trips to the airport, one up one down. This meant that Andrew, Ken, Kate and my Mom and Dad all piled into the minivan and drove to Detroit for a direct flight to Salt Lake City. We had beautiful weather. We left around 10 am and our flight was at 5 pm so plenty of time right? I'm not even sure why I'm writing about this but here goes.

We drove to Sarnia and then I begged to stop to go to the bathroom. This turned into a lunch break. When we got back on the road the line up to go over the boarder was a little long. I don't remember exactly what time we crossed the border but it was sometime after 3, we still had an hour drive to the airport and we were doing the park and fly thing. The park and fly was really well organized - thank goodness, so we were off to the airport pretty quickly. We arrived at the airport sometime after 4 and then things got hairy. Trying to figure out where to check in wasn't fun. We finally checked in, checked our baggage, went through security and then had to trek down the terminal. The terminal in Detroit is pretty much one long corridor. I had Kate in my arms and we took off ahead of the pack. I wasn't sure how my Dad was going to make it there and I figured if one of us got there they would have to hold the flight. Mom was next to arrive, then Ken and then Andrew and Dad. We were just about the last ones on the plane - but we made it!

The flight itself was uneventful. We watched "My Life in Ruins" which was fun - cheesy bad movie fun complete with a poopy joke. When we landed we collected all of our bags - yay and headed for the rental cars. Dad enjoyed being taken around the airport in style this time - no limping for him! We made it to the hotel and Jon came to meet us. We were all thoroughly exhausted but happy to have arrived safely in UTAH!!

Baseball

JULY 17 2009

The trip to Toronto was partly planned around the Boston-Toronto game. Isaac and Joey were very, very excited. There was a considerable amount of smack talk leading up to game night and even more talk on game day. When we went to the CN tower we were in a sea of Boston fans. It's amazing how many Americans come up to Toronto for baseball games.

After we left the restaurant, where the above photo was taken there was even more smack talk as Isaac was taunted by a twenty something year old Toronto fan?!

Uncle Andrew and Uncle Ken took the two boys. Thank you to Uncle Andrew for buying the tickets!!

I'm pretty sure the best part of the night (for Isaac and Joey) was watching the Red Sox defeat the Jays. However it might be trumped by the awesome hats Andrew bought for the boys!
