The crazy flippy car of INSANITY....

The moment he saw it, Sam knew his trip to the fair would be incomplete without a ride on the crazy flippy car of insanity.

Once Sam made his choice it was left for the rest to follow. Maggie 7, Lily 5, Isaac 6 and Matthew 31 had their fates sealed.

Isaac went around and around and that was enough. Then Maggie, Lily and Sam went around and around and that was enough. But Sam went around and around, and around again smiling the entire time.

The crazy flippy car of insanity conquered all, except Sam.

Fun in Seneca Falls

What do you get when you have 3 Bates Boys and 4 Egan Kids? A fun and crazy weekend, that's what! Suzanne and Matthew came up from New York and Ken and I came down from Toronto. Heidi and Todd welcomed us into their farmhouse/mansion. It was so fun watching all the kids play together.

All's Well That Ends Well (the continuing saga of Petunia and the Muffler)

It's amazing the way things work out. We only made it to Port Hope and waited around the next morning in Cobourg until they could fit us in at Midas. When the car was being repaired Ken phoned his parents only to find out that Jen and Eric were going to be passing through on their way from Barrie to Ottawa. Ken and I met up with them at Presqu'ile. It was a beautiful day and we had fun. Anders and Konrad had a great time enjoying the park. We threw rocks in the water and Konrad played with sticks. And then we all went to his parents house and crashed a wedding, but that's another story.

Petunia and the Muffler

So picture this in your mind, it's about 10pm on Friday night. Ken and Wendy are being spontaneuos. They've left Toronto to travel along the 401 to Upper Canada Village. They left late (being spontaneous and all) so they decide they will drive part of the way Friday night and the rest of the way Saturday morning. Their drive is going well, until they hear a terrible scraping noise. Wendy can even see sparks in her side mirror. Ken successfully navigates his way to the shoulder (thankfully of an on-ramp) and they investigate. There is Petunia's muffler lying on the ground, barely hanging on. They search the trunk, what are they to do? "If only I had a rope of some sort," said Ken. "Aha," said Wendy, "take my belt." And there in the dark, with trucks and cars hurtling by, Ken crawled under Petunia and attached the muffler to the frame with Wendy's belt.

Here Comes the Stuff.

First of all mad shout-outs (that's right I said it) to Seth and Spencer. We couldn't have moved without their help. Their smiles and jokes made moving day almost enjoyable. (Can you tell I didn't lift any furniture?) Moving day was Friday, June 23, two days before Ken's exam and a week before I'm done school. As my sister points out though, not having children makes moving easy, so the school thing is nothing. Ken and I spent last week making daily car trips to the new place. In all we moved nine car loads of boxes and various other things before the actual day of the move. We have started unpacking and although we're not done yet the new place is great. Thanks also to my Mom and Dad for helping out where they could and for being so generous.
If you look closely you can see a very tired, make that completely exhausted Ken.
