Easter

Saturday - Eggs

Our tradition, the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. The girls love their hunt in the basement.

Later in the day Fiona and I took her new bunny for a walk around the neighbourhood.

Sunday - Dinner with Andrew

We love it when we get to see Andrew.

Monday - Birthday Walk with Grandma and CJ

I grew up in Thornhill, drove past this place so many, many times, but never walked here. There was a ravine near John and Leslie that I walked in as a teenager when I took Ubu (my dog) for walks, but I never walked here. Mom suggested we meet here, and so we did. It was a really nice day and we had a really nice walk. We gave Mom her birthday cards at the end of the walk. We all had a lovely time!

Good Friday

I love a quiet gentle start to the day and the start to today was just that! Ken made pancakes for the girls, and then Ken and the girls watched Naruto together. Ken also did a few odd jobs that he'd been meaning to do for a while. He put up a shelf in the laundry room, hung a new towel holder and toilet paper holder in the downstairs powder room, and he sanded the holes that he'd previously filled!

Much later in the day, I decided we needed to do some Easter things. I made Alice dress up as the Easter Bunny, as the mall bunny didn't come back this year. (Another lockdown starts at midnight tonight - good times!) I am so thankful for how cooperative the girls are when I want to take pictures. It means so much to me and I love them for their compliance in this thing!

Last year for the first time we painted Easter Rocks in stead of Easter Eggs. We had decided to get rid of some and keep some. But when I looked through our stash today I thought to myself we'd saved way too many, so I made a decision - let's get rid of all the rocks and then go find some new ones to paint at the beach, and so that's what we did. We put out all of our rocks along a walking trail and at a park a little bit east of us at the end of Audley. We had a fun time hiding and then finding new rocks.

After dinner we painted rocks! The girls and I each had six rocks to paint. Ken picked one to paint - but I didn't get a pic of him painting, oops. We had a lot of fun.

And then after the girls FINALLY went to bed - we were just a little off schedule today, it was time for the Easter magic to happen. We've always done our egg hunt on Saturday. Saturday is for the bunny, Sunday is for Jesus! I'm so very thankful for my Savior. And I like the fun and chocolate too!
