Trying to be a real photographer...

When we were at my Mom's on my birthday she asked me had I used a pillow to take Kate's picture. It's just that simple... a pillow, a sheet, a table and a window for natural light? I had been wondering what to prop her up on, it's slightly ridiculous that I'd never thought of using a pillow! So Monday morning we set it all up and got a few cute shots. She started to fuss, thus ending the photo shoot. I am just so in love with this little girl and I LOVE taking her picture! Can you tell?

Birthday Part Two

Part two was Sunday - my actual birthday. After church we went to my mom and dad's house. Andrew made a turkey, it was so good. Mom made all the sides, they were so good. We had ice cream cake - of course. And my Dad got a big turkey so that we could have leftovers - thank you Dad. I LOVE TURKEY!

We were celebrating my birthday and my Mom's birthday. It wasn't Kate's birthday but she's just too cute not to pose with us and the cake.

Before dinner we took some family photos and between Kate closing her eyes (or not looking at the camera) and Ken closing his eyes, the above photo represents the best we could do. Had it been slightly warmer out I might have been more persistent, but I still think my family looks pretty cute!

Birthday Part One

Birthday part one was officially on Friday. Emily and Jinx came to Tottenham to visit and we christened the BBQ. Ken is very good at bbqing!

On Saturday we went downtown. Our first stop was the St. Lawrence Market. We picked up some maple syrup and then made our way - with the stroller, through the madness - to Kozlik's Mustard stand. They serve up Canadian bacon to use in sampling their mustard. Kate is too young to sample the mustard but not too young to pose with Tom the Mustard man.

From the market we walked over to the Distillery District to buy some chocolate. Soma makes the best chocolate I've ever tasted. When we got there with the stroller it was absolute madness so we turned around and left. We did however pick up some cupcakes from The Sweet Escape and had the most amazing sandwiches from the Brick Street Bakery. We ate outside even though the wind was a little cold.

After lunch we walked back to the market and Kate finally woke up. After feeding Kate, I was determined to get some chocolate. This time we drove back to the Distillery and put Kate in her bear suit so we could carry her. Without the stroller we were successful in getting some heavenly chocolate.

All in all it was a most lovely day spent with my two most favourite people in the universe!

Kate is officially three months and wearing my dress.

Here I am wearing the same dress. I'm not sure how old I am.

Oh the difference a day makes!
